5th Shingle Bank league Competition report sent in by Luke Woodford.
Malcolm Stote won with a massive 26 lbs 7 5/8 oz on Wednesday evening 17th April when the club held its 5th Shingle Bank league competition. The weather for the evening was calm and dry with a light northwest wind. 12 club members signed on and 8 caught fish consisting of dogfish, undulate rays, pouting, and smooth-hounds. A total of 26 fish were caught, weighed, and measured and returned to the sea for a total weight of 54 lbs 2 5/8 oz. Best fish of the evening was an undulate ray of 9 lb 3 oz caught by Malcolm Stote with Andy Hopkins a very close second also with an undulate ray of 9 lb 2 7/8 oz.

Match 4 Shingle Bank League Competition.
On Wednesday evening 6th March the club held its 4th S.B.L. competition which was again a good turn-out with 15 club members signing on. All 15 weighed in fish consisting of dogfish and pouting. Ollie Hopkins came out on top with his 9 dogfish for a total weight of 9 lb 10.1/8 oz. 82 sizeable fish were caught which was good for this time of the year. All were weighed and then returned to the sea. The biggest dogfish of 2 lb 1 oz was caught by Michael Dawkins and Ollie Hopkins caught a dogfish of 2 lb 0.1/8 oz.
