10th Shore competition 12th September.

     On Saturday evening the 12th September the club held its 10th shore competition.  This was held at Warren Edge, Southbourne, and the weather for the evening was dry with a light southerly wind.

     Eight club members signed on and only three weighed in fish which were all sole.  Five fish were caught and weighed for a total weight of 1lb 15 1/8oz.  The best fish of the evening was a sole weighing in at 10oz caught by Keith Panks.


1st Keith Panks 1lb 3oz,  2nd Danny Panks 7oz,  3rd Luke Woodford 5 1/8oz.

The best round fish pool was not won so is a rollover of £8.00.  The best specimen pool is also a rollover of £25.00 until the next competition.

11th Shore Competition 10th October.

     On Saturday evening 10th October the club held its 10th Shore competition on the Shingle Bank at Milford-on-Sea.  The weather for the competition was dry with a northwest wind.

     Eleven club members signed on and alleleven weighed in fish consisting of dogfish, whiting, undulate ray, conger eels, bass, black bream and pouting..  A total of 36 fish were caught, weighed and released immediately for a total weight of 36lbs 9.3/4oz.

     The best round fish of the evening was anundulate ray weighing in at 10lbs 12oz caught by ChrisEllis.  The best specimen fish of the evening was also the undulate ray cuaght by Chris Ellis.  The flat fish pool of £11.00 is a rollover till the next competition.

9th Shore Competition held on Saturday 1st August.

    On Saturday evening 1st August the club held its 9th shore competition at Lymington Sea Wall.  The weather was warm and dry with light winds.  Ten club members signed on and eight weighed in fish consisting of gilothead brean, silver eels and smoothhound.  19 fish in total were caught, weighed, measured and released immediately back into the sea bacause only edible fish are retained.  The total weight was 11lbs 0-1/8oz.

     Best round fish of the evening was a smoothhound of 4lb 9-1/8oz caught by Chris Ellis.  Top junior was Finley Munden with silver eels of 8-1/8oz and wins the Waymen &  Shepherd Trophy for Juniors.

     Best flat fish pool was not won and is a rollover of £21.00 to the next competition, also the best specimen pool is a rollover of £10.00.
