A last minute addition meant there was a £5 longest other fish pool added to the event with all competitors entering the pool. Local angler Alan Jones won the pool claiming £70 for a 50cm eel and Toby Oldfield took second place for his 31cm flounder. This pool will be added for next year's event.

Tony South wins Lymington Spring Open.

On Saturday evening the 20th May we held our annual Spring Open at milford on Sea which was kindly sponsored by Loni's Angling Centre of New Milton. Sadly the weather was not in our favour this year. Allthough it was dry, the wind was blowing on shore force 5 at the start. It slowly decreased during the evening but by then the anglers had checked the forecast and stayed at home.
With 100% pay out on the competition 32 anglers braved the conditions and fished the competition which was from Hurst to Hordle Cliff. Although the weed was a problem a large number of fish were caught including undulate rays, small eyed rays, smoothhounds, pollack's, black bream and conger eels. All the fish were returned alive.
1st Tony South 22lbs 0.6oz, 2nd Darren Cramer 10lbs 9oz, 3rd Chris Ellis 8lb 2oz, 4th D. Perrett 5lb 13oz, 5th Mike Brown 5lb 12oz, 6th Ian Dancey 5lb 4.6oz,
