The weather forecast wasn't ideal with a south westerly wind blowing 12mph with rain on and off all day. So, I decided to head for Chesil Beach as I had the day booked off work. Recent outings had not been memorable, but this one proved the opposite. The sea was like drinking chocolate and I caught a new personal best sole of 1lb 4oz with the first cast. Then followed a codling of 2lb 6oz, another about 1lb which was returned, 2 jumbo pouting 1lb 2oz and 1lb 4oz both kept for the table, plus a 5lb conger which was returned.
